Robert Howarth

Rob worked in the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare industry in the UK for several years after completing a BSc. in Biology and Business Studies from the University of London. In 2000 a decision to internationalise his career took him to France where he took an MBA at EM Lyon. Fluent in French, Rob worked for Servier in International Sales and Marketing roles including responsibility for subsidiary activities in North Africa. Following this he joined Merck Serono to run a network of distributors and subsidiaries in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. More recently, a move to Mexico gave the opportunity to become fluent in Spanish whilst working within a smaller pharmaceutical company where he was able to influence overall company strategy and ways of working in a period of significant growth and varied challenges.

Rob joined the Corporate Partnerships team at The University of Nottingham in May 2016, and has taken on a brief to work in the sectors of Industrial Biotechnology, Emerging Technologies, Enabling Technologies, Process Technologies and Materials Science; The Corporate Partnerships team work in conjunction with academic schools and professional services teams to develop and manage long-term strategic relationships with corporate businesses.
